Men’s Health Trust New Zealand

Men’s Health Trust is a not-for-profit organisation whose vision is to ensure that all New Zealand men take responsibility for their own health.

TOWER is a major sponsor of the Trust’s corporate programme, aimed at promoting awareness of men’s health issues through education in the workplace, to reduce early male mortality.

On average, Kiwi men die four years younger than women, many from preventable and treatable diseases.  Yet men often remain less likely to talk to a GP about their health - in fact New Zealand men go to a doctor three times less often than women. In general, men lack awareness of the importance of health screening to help detect preventable diseases and deaths from conditions such as diabetes, cancer and heart disease.

TOWER is New Zealand’s second largest health insurer and has well established relationships with over 1,000 companies, many with predominantly male workforces.  So we are well positioned to partner with the Trust to help encourage men to have regular check-ups and raise awareness of men’s health issues as a whole.
