Cover for unexpected illness or injury suffered while outside New Zealand. Includes the travel and accomodation expenses of an accompanying person (if approved) to travel to you and escort you back to New Zealand in the case of severe illness or injury and also cover for dental expenses as a result of an injury. Benefits are also available to cover funeral costs and unexpected medical complications during the first 20 weeks of your pregnancy.
Cover for sudden and unforeseen accidental loss or damage to your personal baggage. Cover includes reasonable emergency purchases of essential personal items and clothing should you be deprived of your personal baggage due to it being delayed, misdirected or misplaced by a transport operator by at least 12 hours. Also includes reasonable replacement costs of your passport.
Cover for abandonment or alteration of travel due to events outside of your control. This includes cover for deposits and expenses paid in advance and transport costs to enable you to return overseas to complete your travel if you returned to New Zealand because of an unexpected life threatening illness, injury or death to an immediate family member.
We will reimburse you up to $2,000 for the insurance excess you have to pay on a claim under your rental vehicle hire contract.
Lump sum cover for injury suffered outside New Zealand during the period of insurance, which causes accidental death or permanent disablement within 12 months of the injury. This benefit is extended to include cover in the event of any act of terrorism.
Cover for the loss of your cash, travellers cheques, postal notes, credit cards, money orders, petrol coupons, travel tickets or vouchers for pre-paid travel or accommodation that are carried by you or left in a locked vehicle or accomodation premises.
Cover for additional travel costs incurred on a regular airline or established charter service to reach your ticketed destination where your travel is delayed by at least six hours and causes you to miss your onward connecting flight. We will also reimburse you up to $100 per person per day for reasonable additional meal and accommodation costs if your flight is delayed for at least six hours.
Cover for additional travel and accommodation costs due to the cancellation or curtailment of public transport services as a result of a strike or hijack.
Legal liability protection for loss or damage to property and including injury, death or illness from accidents occurring outside New Zealand during the period of insurance. Also covered are legal costs incurred with our consent to defend claims and legal costs as a direct result of wrongful arrest.
