Financial advisers now have an innovative new way to connect clients with Tower, through a unique referral link that gives customers direct access to quote and buy insurance online, including property-specific natural hazard risk information.
Tower’s Director of Partnerships Alan Fletcher says the new option saves advisers time and gives customers more control over the insurance process, and puts Tower among the first insurers in the market to offer this kind of digital referral pathway.
“As a forward-thinking insurer, we are always looking for better ways to serve our customers and partners through digital innovation, and this is just one of the exciting new initiatives we’ll be launching over the coming months,” said Alan Fletcher.
Financial adviser Steph Wiki of Wiki Group says the new Tower referral link is a welcome innovation in the insurance referral space.
“It's simple, easy to use and gives clients another way to access insurance when and how it suits them. For customers who are comfortable managing things online, it's a really convenient option."
This gives customers a simpler and more flexible way to arrange insurance, while helping advisers support clients more efficiently, says Alan Fletcher.
“Customers can research their options, get a quote and buy cover online when it suits them. For advisers, it provides a fast, practical referral option that helps clients move from enquiry to cover with less friction.”
“For example, when a client is looking at purchasing a property and wants to get a quote, or there’s an urgent property settlement and you want to get cover as soon as possible, the customer can arrange that very quickly with just a few clicks.”
Tower is an NZX-listed New Zealand company and is Canstar’s Home and Contents Insurer of the Year for the third year in a row, so advisers can feel confident referring clients to Tower, he said.
Customers can also access information about a property's natural hazard risks through the risk assessment provided as part of the quote process.
“Tower’s approach means customers’ insurance cover is personalised to their property. Premiums are calculated based on the flood, earthquake, sea surge and landslide risk Tower sees at that particular property, not someone else’s,” says Alan Fletcher.
The new option doesn’t replace the phone-based referral process and is designed to be a complementary option, says Alan Fletcher.
“Increasingly, customers prefer to jump online and find information themselves. For more complex client needs or where a client would prefer to speak to someone over the phone, our friendly team are still available to provide advice and help customers with their insurance needs.”
For busy advisers, the new option saves valuable time. “The link can be provided directly to individual customers via email, or through client newsletters or posted on an adviser’s website or e-signature.
“Each adviser has a unique link, so when a client uses it to quote and buy online, successful policies purchased will be attributed back to that adviser.
Alan Fletcher emphasises that this is a direct referral and advisers can’t provide financial advice or recommendations or make representations on behalf of Tower.
“We’ve prepared a suite of materials to support advisers with this new option, including a guidance document and frequently asked questions.”
Alan Fletcher says Tower is very focused on developing digital innovations that make insurance easier and simpler for partners, advisers and customers.
