We’ll replace or repair your contents, up to the limits in your policy and your chosen sum insured amount.
When moving from one house to another, your contents are covered for fire, collision or overturning of the vehicle while in transit. We'll cover your contents at both houses for up to 14 days.
If one event damages or destroys your contents, home or car and you have multiple policies with Tower, you'll only pay one excess.
If you haven’t had a claim with us (or another insurer) during the last year of your insurance, you’ll receive a discount on your premium.
If your contents suffer from natural disaster damage we’ll cover the loss up to your sum insured, minus any applicable excesses.
If there’s an accident which causes damage to someone else’s property, we’ll cover you for your legal liability.
We'll pay for loss to your contents anywhere in New Zealand.
Individual items of jewellery, or sets (for example, earrings) will be covered up to a limit. You need to tell us if you have items worth more than these limits, so we can make sure they’re covered. You’ll also need to pay extra to cover them.
This is the most that we’ll pay out at any one time, if you make a claim for your unspecified jewellery.
We’ll organise the replacement of your keys or locks if they’re stolen, lost, or illegally duplicated, and you won’t need to pay an excess.
If your prescription glasses, contacts, hearing aids or removable dentures are damaged, lost or stolen, we’ll repair or replace them. If you are one of our Plus or Premium customers, you won't pay an excess.
If your child is a student living at a halls of residence, a school hostel or at a private home as a boarder, we’ll cover their contents too.
If you operate a business from your home, we’ll cover your home office equipment.

- If you want to insure any single item worth more $10,000. This will need to be insured individually.
- Details of any big ticket items like jewellery, works of art or collections. High value items need to be listed individually if they're worth more than the policy limits.

It can be difficult to know how much any specific item is worth, especially after you've owned it for a few years. As a rule of thumb, consider how much it would cost to replace your contents. Not just your electronics and jewellery, but your clothing and kitchen utensils.
To help you estimate this cost, look at prices for similar items. Be aware of sales while you do this. To be safe, always use the standard retail price.
