think New Zealanders deserve.
This is how we're getting there.
Making insurance simpler
Insurance can be confusing, but it doesn’t have to be. Having confidence in your insurance means knowing what you’re covered for when you need to claim, and that starts with policies that are easy to read and understand.
Complicated is out. Simple is in.
That’s why we’ve created New Zealand’s first car, house and contents insurance policies to be awarded the WriteMark® Plain Language Standard.
We’re in the process of updating our customers to these new simple-to-understand policies. This means if you have car, house or contents insurance with Tower and you've been updated to one of our latest policies, you can be sure you have our most up-to-date cover with our latest benefits.
Making insurance easier
We want to take the hassle out of insurance by making it easier to buy and manage your policies, so we're introducing new ways to give you control over your cover.
Need a quote for your car, house and contents cover, but don't want to trudge through the same questions again and again? No problem. Want to see how much it will cost to cover both your and your partner's car at the same time? You can do that too.
With our Bundle Builder, you can take out as many car, house and contents policies as you need in one go, quickly and easily. We'll also tell you how much you'll save with our multi-policy discount so you know when you're getting the best deal.
We know you want to manage your insurance in the easiest way for you. That's why we're creating My Tower – a place where you can log in and keep track of all of your policies online.
When you renew on to one of our latest policies, you'll be able to check out the details of your cover, including what your excess is, the insured value of your car, house or contents, and information on named drivers.

Making insurance fairer
Trust Both WaysWhen you take out insurance, providers ask a series of questions that help them decide if they will cover you. In addition to some specific
questions, there is usually a catch-all question like: 'is there anything else we should know?'
This puts the responsibility on you to think about anything and everything that your insurance provider might want to know, but didn't
ask. If you fail to mention something they consider relevant, a claim you make further down the line could be declined.
We think this is unfair. We believe it's our responsibility to ask you the right questions when you take out your insurance and when your
policy renews. All you need to do is answer these questions truthfully, accurately and completely and let us know when they change.
What we’ll do is pay your claim so long as it’s covered by your policy.
This is called 'Trust Both Ways' and we're committed to making it standard across policy purchases and claims by the end of the year.
The Fair Insurance Code
Tower is a proud member of the Insurance Council of New Zealand (ICNZ) and we abide by the Fair Insurance Code. This means we are fully committed to acting with honesty, fairness and transparency when dealing with our customers. Learn more about the Fair Insurance Code on the INCZ website
Fairer insurance pricingWe’ve introduced risk-based pricing for our house and contents
cover. This means we don't subsidise insurance for those who
live in properties at a higher risk of damage from natural
disasters by charging more to customers living in low-risk areas.
We’re the first insurer in New Zealand to do this and we believe
this is the fairest way to price insurance for our customers.
