Tower boat insurance is changing

At Tower Insurance, we will no longer offer boat cover. We’ve teamed up with Club Marine to give you access to market leading cover for your boat.

Club Marine are experts in boat insurance with over 30 years of experience in New Zealand. Their members also have access to 24/7 support and a nationwide network of agents and professional repairers.

What do you need to do?

Watch out for a welcome offer from Club Marine. If you accept this off, you'll need to:

  • Make sure the policy's right for you
  • Accept their offer of insurance
  • Check your boat details are correct
  • Set up a new payment method

Once you've done this you can sit back and enjoy the benefits of being a Club Marine member.

Your current boat policy

Tower will continue to cover your boat until the end of your current insurance term.

Prior to the end of your current insurance term, Club Marine will send you a welcome offer inviting you to become a member. Follow the instructions in that offer to set up cover for your boat with Club Marine.

Your insurance cover will not automatically transfer to Club Marine.

Please read the policy to make sure it's right for you. To accept their offer of insurance you will need to contact them to arrange payment of your insurance. Any offer of insurance is subject to Club Marine’s standard underwriting criteria.

If you don't want to insure your boat with Club Marine, please make sure you arrange alternative cover for your boat before the end of your current cover with Tower.

Changes to your rewards and discounts

Multi-policy discount

If you have been receiving a multi-policy discount*** with Tower, you’ll continue to receive this discount on your remaining eligible Tower Insurance policies when you move your boat cover to Club Marine.

Any additional boat insurance you take out with Club Marine will not count towards your eligibility for Tower’s multi-policy discount.


Club Marine does not offer Airpoints, so you won’t earn Airpoints Dollars™ on your Club Marine policies.

You’ll continue to earn Airpoints Dollars on any eligible Tower Insurance policies you hold,

Subject to the applicable terms and conditions.

Club Marine benefits

Club Marine has a range of member benefits, including great discounts and special offers.

Club Marine Assist** offers comprehensive roadside assistance for your car and trailer when you are towing your boat, or travelling to or from your boat at its mooring or storage location.

Making a claim

If you haven't reached the end of your current insurance term, you're still with Tower and can make a claim with us.

If you've moved to Club Marine, they will handle claims you have relating to events that occur after your policy with them starts.
