We'll repair your car if it's damaged by an uninsured vehicle for comprehensive covers. For third party fire and theft and third party covers we'll repair your car if you can identify the person at fault and the fault was more than 50% theirs.

If you're in an accident and you cause damage to someone else's car or property, we'll cover you for your legal liability to repair it.

Claims that were not your fault 
You won’t pay an excess if you’ve been involved in an accident during the period of insurance, and 1. you’ve identified the party at fault (name, phone number, and registration number of that other party’s vehicle), and 2. we’re satisfied that the other party was more than 50% at fault.

What's the difference between market value and agreed value?

With our Comprehensive car cover, customers can choose to insure their car for its market value or an agreed value. These decide how we settle a claim if the vehicle is written off or stolen. 

  • Market value is the amount your car is worth on the day it's damaged.
  • Agreed value is an amount you and your insurer agree to cover your car for. This amount is locked in for a year when your policy renews.

Am I covered for business use?

Our private car policies cover you for driving to work but won't cover using your car for work. Our Commercial Vehicle insurance may be right for you if you're:

  • an on-road salesperson
  • a tradesperson.

What if my windscreen is damaged?

Your windscreen and window glass are automatically covered under our Comprehensive policy and Third Party, Fire & Theft policy. If you ever need to make a claim for windscreen damage, just call us on 0800 379 372 and we'll get it sorted.

You can also add our windscreen excess buyout benefit when you take out the policy and you won't pay an excess if you claim or lose your No Claims Bonus.

Is my car covered if it breaks down?

Our policies don't cover your car if it stops working due to a mechanical failure. However, you can add our 24-hour roadside assistance service, RoadWise®, to your policy, so if a breakdown happens help is just a phone call away.

Do you cover drivers on a learners licence or restricted licence?

We do, as long as they are driving inside the conditions of their licence.

Am I insured to be an Uber driver?

No, neither our commercial or private policies cover rideshare and carshare services like Uber, Ola, Zoomy, and Yourdrive.

Can I cancel if I change my mind?

If you're not completely happy with your cover, just let us know within 15 days of the policy start date.

As long as you haven't made any claims during this time, we'll cancel the policy and refund any premium payments you've made. If the policy is not quite right, we might be able to change it to better suit you.

How do I make a car insurance claim?

We aim to make claiming on your car insurance as simple as possible. We'll guide you through the process, let you know what happens next, and keep you up to date with any progress.
