Legal liability

If you accidentally damage someone else’s car or property, we’ll cover you for your legal liability.


Damage by an uninsured vehicle

We’ll repair your car if it’s damaged by an uninsured vehicle, as long as you can identify the person at fault and the fault was at least 50% theirs.

How do I make a claim?

We aim to make claiming on your car insurance as simple as possible. We'll guide you through the process, let you know what happens next and keep you up to date with any progress.

You can make a claim online anytime, or we're available on 0800 379 372 if you'd prefer to speak to someone.

Can I cancel if I change my mind?

If you're not completely happy with your cover, just let us know within 15 days of the policy start date.

As long as you haven't made any claims during this time, we'll cancel the policy and refund any premium payments you've made. If the policy was not quite right, we might be able to change it to better suit you.

Am I covered for business use?

Our private car policies cover you for driving to work, but won't cover using your car for work.

Our Commercial vehicle insurance might be right for you if you're:

  • an on-road salesperson
  • a tradesperson.

What if my windscreen is damaged?

Windscreen and window glass are automatically covered under our Comprehensive and Third party fire & theft policies. If you ever need to make a claim for windscreen damage, just call us on 0800 379 372 and we'll get it sorted.

Plus, add our windscreen excess buyout benefit when you take out the policy and you won't pay an excess if you claim, or lose your no-claims bonus.

What's the difference between market value and agreed value?

Our Comprehensive car cover customers can choose to insure their car for its market value or an agreed value.

These decide how we settle a claim if the vehicle is written off or stolen.

  • Market value is the amount your car is worth on the day it's damaged.
  • Agreed value is an amount you and your insurer agree to cover your car for and is the most popular choice with our customers. This amount is locked in for a year when your policy renews.

Am I insured to be an Uber driver?

No, neither our commercial or private policies cover ride-share and car-share services like Uber, Zoomy and Yourdrive.
